Panay Island

Iloilo City:

The city of love... and you get there you can see why! We arrived in Iloilo for an amazing and popular festival that happen there every year. We were craving culture and this amazing experience definitely gave us what we were looking for! The Dinagyang festival is a religious festival in the gorgeous city.

This festival celebrates the Santo Niño (Saint little Jesus). The main event of the festival is the Ati Tribe competition that consists of a number of dance demonstrations from some of the local tribes. It was amazing to see how passionate everyone was and how excited they got with their dances to el Santo Niño! An incredible experience!

More things we loved to do in Iloilo:

- Eating at Roberto's: A very popular restaurant known for they Siopao and can confirm was delicious.

- Dinner at Muelle Deli and restaurant: beautiful and delicious food with a great view of the river.

- Had a Moroccan bath at Hamman Royal Rituals: After a ritual here with a bath, rub and massage you are gonna feel like new.

- Festive Walk Mall: Definitely can't miss this area, is gorgeous with lots of beautiful classical buildings and you can see why this city is also known as the cleanest in Asia, so beautiful.

Calawag Mountain Resort:

A couple of hours from the city of Iloilo but in this same island you can have an amazing experience of what's to being "cooked alive"!! just kidding, but here you can try the typical Kawa Baths! “Kawa” is the local word for a large thick fryer and looks like a giant wok! And what a place to do it! With the view of the lake and lots of different options! You can choose to bath in milk, coffee, beer and even wine! We had also an amazing exfoliation at the end and felt so relaxing! Getting cooked alive never felt so good!!

In this same island you can drive to Catalan Jetty Port where you can get a 15 minute Ferry to the amazing island of Boracay!
